Addendum
In addition to the home page, this site is also about learning to read written music well enough so that you are able to play basic sheet music with your Irish Whistle. Hymns and Folk songs are used to prevent copyright issues in the future.

Performance wise, this site is designed to help you gain the minimal capability of performing with a church group. This doesn’t mean the group will be open to you playing with them. Being capable and being accepted are two different things. Nevertheless, this website is designed to help you achieve greater ability(or should it be agility?) in performance.

Some of the website is free, and some of the website requires cost to access. The pages of the website that are free have advertisements.

Accessibility
I am presently working on code so the background will turn black and the letters will turn bright green. Once I get that right, it should be easy enough to make the effect reverse. This would make reading with strained eyes much easier.

Standards
While content is first, layout is second, and standards are third, layout should never prevent standards.

The w3c passed my website’s front page with green as of 20Dec09.

Author

Brian Durham

The author, Brian Durham has played music for over 20 years. Prior to the Irish Whistle, he played the Recorder and the Trumpet. In addition to these instruments, he can make sounds on the Shakuhachi, the Flute, the Fife, and the Ocarina. (The author was in a music store observing a funny looking bamboo flute and asked to try it, and an employee said sure, and shortly after notes came out of the instrument, the employee remarked they thought it was just a toy decoration because they’ve never heard anyone make sound out of it. – magic? Not at all; it was a Shakuhachi.)

Leviticus 25:9 …On the Day of Atonement you shall sound the trumpet throughout all your land.
